Residential Treatment

Helping parents find the right care for their teen can be a confusing situation with so many youth programs and options that are out there. The following types of specialty schools and programs are effective sources of treatment in getting your teen help:
  • Residential treatment centers
  • Program for troubled teens
  • Schools for troubled teens
  • Boarding schools
  • Therapeutic boarding schools
  • Residential treatment centers
There are many residential treatment centers for teens through out the country that are usually based upon key components within its structure. Typically they follow a format of rules that are based upon rewards and consequences, this is known as Behavior Modification. Another format of structure that many residential treatment centers are beginning to adopt is Positive Peer Culture, this is where constant reinforcement for troubled teens within the program help each other, and hold each other accountable for their behavior, attitude, positivity, leadership, and in resolving issues and problems together as a group. This is accomplished through steady supervision and support from staff within the program. Liahona Academy 's residential treatment center for teens implement both components of Behavior Modification and Positive Peer Culture to help teens in an effective structure of treatment that has shown unparallel success.

Programs for troubled teens

The following programs for troubled teens include, boot camps, residential treatment centers, wilderness programs, boarding schools, therapeutic boarding schools and high impact programs. These types of programs for troubled teens are available for assisting parents. Boot camps, wilderness programs, and high impact programs are usually short-term programs for troubled teens, which have effective results if your teen is at the initial stages of trouble, or if they are so entrenched in their destructive behaviors that these types of programs for troubled teens could orientate them into an enrollment for further treatment such as residential treatment centers, boarding schools, or therapeutic boarding schools, which would give a longer duration of care and treatment for greater internalization. Residential treatment centers, therapeutic boarding schools, and boarding schools are effective programs for troubled teens that offer a much longer duration of care that give the proper amount of time needed for treatment, counseling, therapy and schooling that bring about lasting changes for internalization. The duration period for these types of teen programs are typically anywhere from 6 to 18 months. The duration could possibly be longer depending upon the severity of your teen's troubles.
